I’ve been keeping a secret . . .
When I was 8 years old I saved up my birthday money for the school book fair. I bought a Pillsbury desserts cookbook. I loved it. I looked at every single page and had a dream to make every single recipe in that book.
Each day I would sit in class and look at the clock impatiently as I dreamed of all the wonderful desserts I would make. As soon as I got off the bus, I would head to the kitchen and start baking.
I made a one bowl chocolate cake that I was so proud of! I made all types of cookies, including the especially tricky fortune cookies (that turned out more like crepes). I worked my way through the entire cookbook. After making every recipe in my little cookbook, I had a new dream. A dream to write my own cookbook one day.
I guess I kind of filed that dream away. Then in November, in the midst of a very hard season for our family, I remembered my dream. I remembered that 8 year old Elisha wanted to write her own cookbook filled with the most delicious food and beautiful pictures of every single recipe. And, I remembered that the whole reason I started Eat It Up Yum was to record my recipes and make a cookbook to pass along to my family and loved ones.
So, I did! I made a cookbook! And I kept it a secret, but now the secret is out. And I want to share it with you. Here is my dream in print— “Eat It Up Yum, 34 mouth-watering gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free recipes to help you live a vibrant life”. It is a beautiful full-color-book with recipes from my website as well as some new ones. It has recipes like Lime Sherbet Breakfast Popsicels, Coconut Milk Yogurt, Harvest Bowls, Brisket Tacos, Beef and Bok Choy Bowls, Rocky Road Ice Cream, Chocolate Celebration Cake, plus sides and drinks and so much more.
I hope you enjoy my very first cookbook! And I hope it helps you live a yummy and vibrant life!
