I tried to make my own almond milk one time. I was so excited to make a clean, binder-free nut milk. I was pretty disappointed. The almond milk didn’t taste very good and it took a lot of time to make. I had to soak the almonds overnight, blend everything, then strain it through a nut milk bag.
I kinda gave up on making my own nut milks after that. Then, one day, I ran out of hemp milk. I had hemp seeds and water. Time to give alternative milk making another try.
Wow! Not only was Hemp Milk the easiest thing in the world to make, it also tasted better than the store bought stuff.
Seriously. Four ingredients (including water) and 90 seconds later, you can have the best hemp milk. It is creamy and nutty and so good for you.
So, grab your blender and go make some hemp milk.
Hemp Milk
- 3 cups cool, filtered water
- 3/4 cup hemp seeds
- 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp sea salt
I don’t sweeten my hemp milk, but feel free to sweeten it if you like.
Directions:
- Blend all the ingredients in a high powered blender on high for 1 minute. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if desired.
- Store in the fridge up to 3 days.
Separation will occur because there are no binders. Just give the milk a shake and it will all come back together.
