This is the point in the summer where I simultaneously never want summer to end and can’t wait for the heat to give way to Fall. A glass of this refreshing Sparkling Lemonade quickly cools me off and reminds me to sit back, relax, and enjoy the long summer days.
Sparkling Lemonade
- 12 oz. (1 1/2 cups) freshly squeezed lemon juice (juice from about 8-12 lemons, depending on their size and juiciness)
- 45 grams (3 Tbsps) liquid stevia*
- 1/4-1/2 tsp flaky salt, depending on your preference
- 1/8 citric acid, optional (makes it tastes like restaurant lemonade)
- 45 oz. Sparkling water
- 2 lemons for garnish, sliced
- Ice
Directions:
- Put lemon juice, stevia, salt, and citric acid in a pitcher and mix together.
- Add ice and stir.
- Top off with sparkling water and lemon slices. Stir one more time and serve.
This recipe makes an entire pitcher of lemonade. You can use still water, but the sparkling water makes it extra refreshing.
*If you don’t prefer stevia you can sweeten the lemonade with honey, maple syrup, or simple syrup. All of these sweeteners sweeten at different levels; I recommend starting with 1/4 cup and adding more as desired. (You may need as much as 1/2 cup of simple syrup for a pitcher of lemonade.) Stevia is much sweeter than sugar so, you need a lot less stevia than sugar.
