Whether it is for a family game night, a party with friends, or a gathering with your community, these Tostada Bites are sure to be a hit.
These crunchy little tortillas topped with flavorful brisket or BBQ, tasty salsa, and smooth crema are a party in every bite.
Tostada Bites
- 1 package Siete Almond Flour Tortillas
- 1-2 Tbsp avocado oil
- Flaky Sea Salt
- 1/2 lb-1 lb Brisket (Or, your favorite bbq pulled pork. See Test Kitchen Notes at the bottom of the page.)
- Fire Roasted Salsa
- Avocado Crema
- Jalapeño Peppers for garnish
Directions to make the Tostadas:
- In a medium skillet, heat up 1-2 tablespoons of avocado oil over medium heat. (You need enough oil to cover the bottom of the skillet.)
- While the oil is heating up, make the mini tortillas. Using a round cookie cutter, cut out 1 1/2- 2 inch circles from the tortillas. (You should be able to get 3-4 mini tortillas from one Siete Almond Flour Tortilla.)
- Once the mini tortillas are cut out and the oil is hot, use tongs to place the tortillas in the hot oil and fry them on each side until they are lightly golden brown. It should take about 2-3 minutes per side. (You will probably need to fry in batches. Make sure to fry the tortillas in a single layer and do not overcrowd the skillet.)
- Once the mini tortillas are fried, place them on a paper towel lined plate and sprinkle them lightly with a bit of flaky salt.
Directions to assemble the Tostada Bites:
- Layer each mini tortilla with a small spoonful of meat.
- Spoon some Fire Roasted Salsa over the meat.
- Top off with the Avocado Crema.
- Garnish with a slice of jalapeño if desired.
- Serve immediately to prevent the tostadas from getting soggy.
- Enjoy!
Test Kitchen Notes
I love to make these Tostada Bites with leftover brisket from my Brisket Tacos. If I don’t have any taco meat on hand, I like to pick up some smoked brisket or pulled pork from my favorite local BBQ restaurant. It is just as delicious and super easy!
You can customize these however you like. Switch out the Avocado Crema for guacamole, top off with some coconut milk yogurt as a dairy-free sour cream— there are so many options.
If you don’t want to make your own salsa, just use your favorite store-bought salsa.
One Siete Tortilla can be cut into 3-4 mini tortillas; there are 8 tortillas in each package of Siete Tortillas.
I did not give specific amounts of tortillas, salsa, or crema. It all depends on how many people you want to serve. Plan on 2-3 Tostada Bites for each person if serving as an appetizer or snack.
